Crossroad of Democracy: Cray Uncle

From across the big pond, the great American experiment confronts with the upcoming presidential elections a defining moment, as noted by President Joe Biden during his recent State of the Union, “this is not ordinary moment with freedom and democracy under attack, both at home and overseas, at the very same time.” This election holds profound significance not only for the United States and its citizens but also for the citizen of our global village.
The first term of “crazy uncle” Donald J Trump set the United States on a disastrous course toward chaos, but a potential re-election could lead to unprecedented consequences. Trump exhibited characteristics of a potential autocrat, conspiring to stay in power after the 2020 election, fostering internal and external destabilization, eroding democratic institutions, and stifling the judiciary.
The Grand Old Republican party’s allegiance to party over country further exacerbated the situation, fostering a culture of deception that paved the way for nihilism, fascism, crony capitalism, lawlessness, isolation, and authoritarianism.
Conversely, the election of President Joe Biden ushered in a term marked by responsible leadership, the restoration of order, and a commitment to multilateralism. His administration has addressed critical issues such as climate change, the economy, healthcare, the Ukraine conflict, and Israel with seriousness.
However, President Joe Biden is in need of more realpolitik and strategic balance. The ongoing ideological contest is unconvicting and inadequate in addressing the multifaceted challenges humanity faces. From climate disruptions to infectious diseases.
Nevertheless, a second Trump term, with the return of this loud, deranged, narcissistic, self-aggrandizing, autocratic “crazy uncle” who conspired to defraud the government and opposes the very essence of democracy, would pose an existential threat to national and global peace, stability, and prosperity.

Diatribe: The upcoming US presidential election is crucial, with President Joe Biden’s leadership providing a contrast to the potential consequences of a second term for Donald Trump. Biden’s focus on responsible leadership and critical issues, despite the need for strategic balance, contrasts starkly with Trump’s autocratic tendencies. This election holds significance for global peace and prosperity.
