The Fables of Power – Old grudges, new costumes, timeless quarrels
📖 The Prophet of the Corridors of Power ✡️
✍️ Introduction
In the holy land walked a ruler who wrapped himself in prophecy. He claimed his steps were guided by divine light, though the mirrors in his palace reflected only his own ambition. He spoke not of compromise but of destiny, not of peace but of revelation.

🎭 “The welfare of humanity is always the alibi of tyrants.”
—Albert Camus
🪄 The Tale
The Prophet strode through the corridors, declaring that he was chosen to fulfill the ancient words. He divided the people into children of light and children of darkness, promising salvation for some and devastation for others.
He told the faithful he would rebuild temples, cast out unbelievers, and raise a kingdom destined to last forever. His speeches rang with scripture, yet his treasury filled with gold from foreign purses, and his allies were chosen less by faith than by convenience.
Some of his courtiers nodded solemnly, others whispered uneasily. Beyond the palace gates, the people quarrelled and bled. But the Prophet walked on, convinced that history itself bent to his will.
Yet prophecy, once invoked, always demands a price. For every promise of redemption came a shadow of ruin. And the more the Prophet clothed himself in sacred words, the more he mistook his own reflection for the face of God.
⚖️ Moral of the Tale
He who crowns himself with prophecy may find only a crown of thorns.
